Types of Records in the Austrian-Hungarian Muster Rolls

As noted in my last post, I have created a database of for soldiers in the Austro-Hungarian empire from the Udbina area from 1821-1868.  The vast majority of those records came from one of a few types.  Here's a list of types of records in the database (I only list the types of records that represented at least 1 percent of the sample):

1) Enrollment. German = Enroulirungs. Size = 46% of the sample.  The records when men are first recruited.  Most of the men are around 20 years old.

2) Discharge. German = Ausroulirungs. Size = 33% of the sample.  Gives records for the men are being released.

3) Nomination (I think these were essentially the same as the enrollment forms above. They only started using them in the years after 1854 and so I think it is just a shift in the name of the forms they use to track new recruits... I think). German = Nominal. Size = 15% of the sample.

4) Court-Martials (I think... it looks like most of these are records for people who have deserted and are being presented under that context). German = Prasentirungs. Size = 2% of the sample.

5) Transfers. German = Transferierungs. Size = 2% of the sample.

6) Assent. German = Assent. Size = 1% of the sample.

7) Assignment (Consignation). German = Consignation. Size = 1% of the sample.
